Coral Island, Phuket or Hey Island This island of Phuket's south coast is so well known for its coral reef that it is often referred to simply as Coral Island. in addition to the splendid reefs there are two fine beaches on the north and west. Hey island is part of a marine preserve, but accommodations, restaurant, various water sports, and diving are all available. Boats leave from Rawai beach and Chalong bay. The Racha (or Raya) islands, some 12 km south of Phuket, are best known as excellent diving and snorkeling daytrip destinations. Racha Yai, however, is quickly developing into a place to stay on for a while with a number of bungalow and resort operations springing up in recent years.

Racha Yai reveals itself in splendid fashion, with most arrivals landing onto a strip of fine white sand tucked deep into the long, U-shaped main bay, called Ao Tawan Tok or Ao Bungalow. The water here is clear and perfect for snorkeling, though the bay gets quite busy with visiting boats in the afternoons. The other large bay, Ao Siam, is a pretty place where lonely strolls in solitude are possible. Racha Noi is uninhabited and has no services or accommodation, but there's some great diving in the area.

Koh Khai Nok is a picturesque island off the East Coast of Phuket. The Island is quite small, fringed with a pristine white sandy beach and is surrounded by a spectacular, shallow reef ideal for snorkeling.

Small reef fish often come in to ankle deep water, so even non-swimmers can enjoy the marine life. It is only used for day trips, with no overnight accommodation available; however there is one restaurant on the island. serving fresh seafood daily. There are two smaller islands in the vicinity, which also have white sandy beaches and good snorkeling reefs. Kao Ping-Kan The name means literally leaning mount. It is really a huge rock split in two; the smaller half has slid down and the remaining one appears now to be leaning. Though Kao Ping-kan is a very small island, Kao Tapoo or James Bond Island, is in a little bay of Kao Ping-Kan where visiting boats pull up. Tapoo means nail, and this shore less rock projects up from the sea as its name implies; flat and wide at the top, and very narrow at waterline. It is a striking sight. And the island became more famous after the James Bond adventure, The Man with the Golden Gun, was partly filmed here.
